Those much touted Thousand Sons of mine Not that I have much to show for all this time. I'm really a horrible procrastinator! I apologise beforehand for visible mould lines as well as a generally sloppy paint job. But, after all, these are meant to be played with and I see no point in lavishing too much time on something that is bound to get knocked around a bit.
Now, you might have noticed that they're not as blue as 1k Sons usually are. Why is that? Well, as these fellas are fighting with Iron Warriors, I figured it prudent to change the colour scheme around a bit to make them blend in better with the IWs. The gold is slightly brighter than that of the Terminator IWs, and the blue metal is achieved thusly:
1. Over black undercoat, drybrush with Tin Bitz, followed by Boltgun Metal. Wash this with Badab Black.
2. Drybrush a highlight of Chainmail once the wash is dry.
3. Make a final, extreme highlight with Mithril Silver.
4. Wash all the armour plates with Asurmen Blue. Let it dry.
5. Bob's your uncle!
You'll, notice the metal starts out pretty much the same as on the ordinary IWs, with some added highlighting and washing. That's all, really.
Comments are always welcome.

Interesting scheme. Im more used to see them with blue colours, but it looks sweet The oeruboros is moreless simple, but drawing it on every.single.shoulderpad is a VERY nice detail On the other hand, I dont (and probaly never will) like those egiptian-like crests... Iron warriors dont have any god?
Iron Warriors are predominantly described as Undivided. That doesn't stop some individuals from falling to a specific god, though.

That coming from the man who made that AMAZING Kurze picture...
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them!

Once you figure out a good paint scheme, 1k Sons aren't that hard to paint. These were painted to fit in with my Iron Warriors specifically.

The paint scheme developed as a solution to making 1k Sons fit in with my Iron Warrior army, and painting them bright blue with gold trim would've broken the cohesion of the army. Hence, this solution. Glad to hear you like it!

It sort of looks like that RL too. I truly do love the results that you can get with Citadel Washes. Best thing in ages that GW has done!
