Finally done!
The red lacks definition. I apologize for that, as I could not figure out some way to fix that... Ach, well.
The plasma pistol is plastic, as this was pretty badly miscast at fist. It has been repaired but still shows places of miscasting, despite my best efforts.
I hope you like it. Feel free to comment on things I might do better (there's a lot though) or tips on how to fix things. I'm all ears.

Red is a sticky issue for many painters. There's more than one way to skin a cat, in this case.
Depending on what red you're using, you can highlight in different ways. If you want a deeper crimson, consider starting with (and these are all the previous paint set names) Mechrite Red, followed by Red Gore, Blood Red, and Blazing Orange for highlights. Give it a wash of Leviathan Purple to blend it all and it's good to go.
A brighter red (such as on my recent Blood Angel) starts with Blood Red (go figure), and then I highlight with Blazing Orange and Dwarf Flesh. A wash of Baal Red blends them together, and finally some pinpoint highlights of Skull White give it the final pop.
