So, this is the last part to what I call Act 1 of Germania by Night. The entire document now stands at roundabout 45 000 words. And I wrote most of it last year. Good for me!
act 2 and 3 won't be as long, because this is built like a Wagner opera. Act 1 is always longer in those things.
I intend to make a collection at some point of all the things, archiving these separate parts.
What will come next? Well, courtroom dramas are usually not that dramatic, and the story mainly follows Speer, so you'll see what I have in mind for the poor schmuck!

What I enjoyed most about this chapter was Speer showing off his ability to the British and McDade being a complete asshat about it. It's not enough that Speer already thinks himself something not human, it takes McDade to say he's a monster. Stirling, surprisingly enough, less of a jerk throughout all of this, even if he did put Albert through a test to see if he was speaking the truth or not.
The sanitorium sounds even creepier now that it's become abandoned. I've seen the pictures and in no way does the building look inviting.
