Painted as a gift for
(yes, good friends get minis from me.)
I don't think this classic Jes Goodwin mini needs any further introduction. Except he's now in Finecast. Minimum of bubbles to him, though he was missing a finger on the staff-hand. I fixed that with liquid greenstuff.
I went with a classical Thousand Son blue and gold, with blue eyes on Ahriman's helmet, red gemstones, a semi-pearl finish to the cloth and an ACTUALLY BLACK Black Staff of Ahriman! I was vacillating over freehand painting for a long while, but in the end decided against it, because the large blue areas look nice as is. And I actually did not want to potentially ruin a gift to a friend! So yeah, I am a coward!
The full figure shots are about 1.5-2 times actual size when fully zoomed in (ie, download the full-size file) and 4 times in the detail shots. This is my excuse to any sloppy painting, heh!
I really should spend more time on my showcase minis. For some reason I'm not spending as much time as I used to on them.
